SUZETTE
Suzette is het muzikale project van de Belgische zangeres Gudrun Roos.
Vanuit haar liefde voor jazz, Franse chanson en tijdloze muziek creëert ze een warme, persoonlijke sound waarin swingjazz, bossa nova en chanson elkaar ontmoeten.
Haar muziek is intiem, poëtisch en licht melancholisch, met een vleugje blues en de sfeer van de jaren ’50, maar altijd met een eigentijdse en eigenzinnige toets. Ze houdt van muziek met karakter: sterke teksten, herkenbare melodieën en ruimte voor muzikale interactie.
Suzette komt in verschillende bezettingen tot leven op het podium. In haar eigen kwartet deelt ze het podium met Rein De Vos (accordeon & bandoneon), Jakob Haghebaert (gitaar) en Ruben Lamon (contrabas). Hun persoonlijkheid, muzikaliteit en improvisatie vormen een essentieel onderdeel van de sound.
Suzette brengt eigen composities en songs in het Frans, Nederlands en Engels, naast originele bewerkingen van onder meer Leonard Cohen, Serge Gainsbourg, Lhasa de Sela en Cesária Évora. In 2025 verscheen haar debuut-EP Midnight Voyage de la nuit. Nieuwe muziek is momenteel in voorbereiding.
Met Suzette brengt Gudrun haar jarenlange ervaring als zangeres, songwriter en performer samen in een eigen muzikaal verhaal: een persoonlijke sound die op het podium volop tot leven komt.

Suzette is the musical project of Belgian singer Gudrun Roos.
Driven by her love of jazz, French chanson and timeless music, Suzette creates a warm and personal sound where swing jazz, bossa nova and chanson come together.
Her music is intimate, poetic and gently melancholic, with a touch of blues and the atmosphere of the 1950s, while always retaining a contemporary and distinctive character. She is drawn to music with personality: strong lyrics, memorable melodies and plenty of room for musical interaction.
Suzette comes to life on stage in different formations. In her own quartet, she shares the stage with Rein De Vos (accordion & bandoneon), Jakob Haghebaert (guitar) and Ruben Lamon (double bass). Their personality, musicianship and improvisational spirit are an essential part of the project’s sound.
Suzette performs original compositions and songs in French, Dutch and English, alongside original interpretations of music by artists such as Leonard Cohen, Serge Gainsbourg, Lhasa de Sela and Cesária Évora. Her debut EP, Midnight Voyage de la nuit, was released in 2025. New music is currently in the making.

Ruben Lamon
Double bass
Ruben Lamon is a versatile Belgian double bassist, trained at the conservatories of Ghent and Antwerp. He is active in projects such as Thomas Champagne Random House, Cordovero Trio and The Untaggables. His style combines a strong groove with an open approach to improvisation.
Jakob haghebaert

Jakob Haghebaert is a talented jazz guitarist who studied at the Conservatory of Ghent. He teaches jazz guitar at various academies and performs in a wide range of projects and bands, including Skordatura Punk Jazz Ensemble, Mâäk, Beefkat, Bestiaal, and Café Z. His musical style combines technical mastery with a distinctly creative vision.
