Midnight voyage de la nuit
I introduce to you my debut ep.
This collection of four songs is a warm, personal, and melancholic journey where French chanson, bossa nova, and swing jazz intertwine.
The record includes one original composition of mine, alongside my own lyrics and re-interpretations of existing jazz standards and traditional melodies.
I chose to write and sing in three languages (English, French, and Dutch), each adding its own color to my story. Every song is a small ode to life: to travel, to encounters, to vulnerability and resilience.
Together with my trio: Rein De Vos on accordion, Jakob Haghebaert on guitar, and Ruben Lamon on double bass, we created something warm, authentic, and timeless.
Midnight Voyage de la Nuit is an invitation to pause, to breathe, and to let yourself be carried away into a world of tender melancholy and quiet joy.
The EP is accompanied by a beautiful illustration by Jan-Sebastiaan Degeyter, capturing the mood of the music.

We first met in Bruges at a concert with our ‘non-jazz’ bands. During the soundcheck, Ben started playing Misty as a warm up, and these beautiful vocals called out from the backstage dressing room.
We introduced ourselves and then straight after the concert, we all headed into the bar and played an impromptu set of jazz and swing with Gudrun, until the bar kicked us out. Since then we have made various concerts and guest appearances together, and Gudruns session was the first we managed to book in.
